Happy Friday! I didn’t do a TBR post last week, and I probably won’t do one next week either, because September is just so full of amazing new releases that I want to fit in an extra couple of reviews before we get to Blogoween. But I do want to whet your appetites a bit for my October extravaganza, so here are a few of the titles that I’ll be reviewing next month!
Little Vampire’s Big Smile by Rosa Von Feder and Lindsay Dale-Scott
Ever since I read Little Witch’s Zoomin’ Broom, this book has been high on my TBR. Just look at that cute cover! The kind folks over at Cottage Door Press were generous enough to send me a copy of this along with the rest of their Halloween lineup for review, and I am so excited about the adorable and spooky goodies that I have to share with you. I haven’t stopped squealing since I opened the box. Seriously, you’re going to want to see these books.
A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting by Joe Ballarini and Vivienne To
The Baby-Sitters Club meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer? SOLD.
Sam Wu Is Not Afraid of Ghosts by Katie & Kevin Tsang and Nathan Reed
I get really excited about new chapter book series, and this one looks incredibly fun. Nathan Reed’s illustrations are playful and energetic, and I’ve honestly been hooked on this series since I saw this cover. And you know I’m a sucker for a good haunted house story.
The Scariest Book Ever by Bob Shea
That cover is the definition of bold, gorgeous design. Coupled with such an intriguing title, I absolutely have to see what’s inside this book.
Los Gatos Black on Halloween by Marisa Montes and Yuyi Morales
Okay, I’m cheating on this one a little bit. I’ve actually read this one already — more times than I can count — but I can’t wait to read it again, because it’s just that good. This picture book is dark and eerie and disturbing…it’s easily one of my favorite things that I’ve read this year, and I can’t wait to share my review with you.
I hope you enjoyed that little taste of what’s to come, and I hope you’re as excited for Blogoween as I am! Remember, I’ll have a treat for you on each and every day of October. I can’t wait!
